Comics Picks For 18.06.2014

I was severely mistaken when I thought that the week before last was hectic because of all the ongoing marriage preparations, for this past week has proven me wrong. Most of my reading got done in the first three-four days, after which I didn’t read a single comic, and my book reading is behind by a good 4 days as well, which is pretty bad for me. Now, with my engagement in another 4 days, it doesn’t look like this new week is going to be any better either.

The surprise hits of this week were Dexter’s Laboratory #1 and Star Trek: City On The Edge Of Forever #1, both from IDW Publishing and Harley Quinn #7  from DC Comics. The surprise flops would be Uncanny X-Men Special #1 from Marvel Comics and Nancy In Hell: Dragon In Hell #1 from Amigo Comics. Comics that I expected to be great, such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 10 #4 from Dark Horse Comics, Original Sin #4 from Marvel Comics, Red Sonja #10 from Dynamite Entertainment and Samurai Jack #9 from IDW Publishing were mind-blowing all the way, incredibly consistent is what they were. I was intending to get through a couple more graphic novels this week but with lack of reading time in the second half of the week, that never really happened.

Anyway, here’s another edition of “Comics Picks For…”. Full reading list, as always, is available here and all my comics reviews are available here.
